How this page works

A monitor separate from the application requests the website and the sign-in page every 10 minutes, through the same route a visitor takes, and records the result. It also confirms that the HMRC filing APIs answer from our servers, since filing depends on them; that is reachability only, and HMRC publish their own service availability.
